The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has decided to increase the overnight policy interest rate by 100 basis points to 8.75%.

This was when the Monetary Policy Board met yesterday (25).

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka says that the Monetary Policy Board took this decision after carefully considering the prevailing domestic and global conditions and possible future developments.
