Foreign media reports that President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the Ukrainian army wants to mobilize up to 500,000 additional personnel.
It was almost two years into the war with Russia.
At a news conference in Kyiv, the Ukrainian president said his commanders were 'looking for 450,000-500,000 people,' a sensitive and expensive issue.
He has said that 500,000 soldiers are already at the front.
Foreign media say that the president of Ukraine has said this in the face of the decline in aid from the United States and the European Union.
Meanwhile, White House and State Department officials said the United States is planning yet another military aid package for Ukraine.
And Russia's President Vladimir Putin says he will continue the invasion of Moscow, vowing to achieve all goals.
