An announcement from the Ministry of Health about wearing face masks



The Ministry of Health has decided to expedite the administration of the 4th booster dose to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
 
Janaka Chandragupta, Secretary of the Ministry of Health said that necessary steps are being taken to start the 4th vaccination program this week.
 
He mentioned that PCR tests will be done to identify the COVID-19 patients as needed, and if the patients are reported in clusters, tests will also be done on the associates.

Mr. Chandragupta mentioned that during yesterday's meeting with President Ranil Wickramasinghe, he discussed the current health condition of the country.
 
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health says that it is strongly recommended to wear face masks in view of the current situation of the COVID-19 virus.

The Ministry stated that the public should wear face masks in domestic premises, public places and when using public transport services, on the advice of the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena.
 
Although it has not been imposed as a law, the Ministry of Health says that it is essential for all people to wear masks at this time.
