EU has taken steps to provide Humanitarian aid to SL



The European Union has taken steps to provide an amount of 1.5 million euros to Sri Lanka under humanitarian aid.

It is stated that the measures to provide this aid are in response to the socio-economic crisis affecting the people of this country.

The money is to be provided for the immediate needs of the people such as food, health, education and security

Also, it is reported that special attention has been paid to providing the same assistance to the most vulnerable family units.

EU Commissioner for Crisis Management Janus Lenachik has further stated that the food security of millions of people in Sri Lanka is under threat and they are facing a socio-economic crisis.
