An increase in the arrival of tourists to Sri Lanka



Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority says that the arrival of tourists has increased.
 
Director General of the Tourism Development Authority Mrs. Dhammika Wijesinghe said that more than 17,000 tourists came in the first two weeks of August.
 
Accordingly, she said that tourists from European countries including United Kingdom, India and Canada have come to the island.

The Tourism Development Authority also stated that more than 1,600 tourists visit the island every day.
 
The authority said that the number of tourists who came every day in May was 650.
 
In addition, she mentioned that a special program is in place to bring tourists to Sri Lanka.
