Controller General of Immigration Mr. Harsha Ilukpitiya says that a system has been prepared to issue passports in a short time of two hours under the one day service.
He said this while joining a press conference held yesterday (2) in that department.
According to that, those who come to take flight permits under the one-day service can come and take a token in the mo ing and wait for about two hours after submitting the documents and fingerprints according to the relevant token number and take the passport.
He said that the current congestion in the issuance of passports has been brought to an end.
He informed the people not to follow brokers and said that so far 19 brokers have been arrested.
He said that brokers have been banned from coming to the Immigration Department and that a separate information network will be implemented to investigate those persons.
