The Sri Lankan Election Commission has announced the final results for the Nuwaraeliya District in the 2024 General Election. The National People’s Power (NPP) emerged as the leading party, capturing over 20% of the total votes in the district.

The NPP received 39,894 votes, securing the district win, while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second with 32,232 votes (16.45%).

Based on these results, the NPP has obtained 2 seats in Nuwaraeliya District, with the SJB winning 1 seat, ITAK winning 1 seat, DTNA winning 1 seat and SLLP winning 1 seat.

• National People’s Power (NPP): 39,894 votes – 2 seats
• Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB): 32,232 votes – 1 seat
• Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK): 29,711 votes - 1 seat
• Democratic Tamil National Alliance (DTNA): 21,102 votes - 1 seat
• Sri Lanka Labour Party (SLLP): 17,710 votes - 1 seat
