The Railways Department and the Sri Lanka Transport Board have jointly prepared a joint transport plan from April 9th to 21st.
The National Transport Commission, in a statement, stated that this plan will be implemented for the benefit of the passengers leaving for their villages for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
Accordingly, the National Transport Commission has implemented long-distance bus services focusing on 5 main corridors: Kandy, Puttalam, High Level/Low Level, Dambulla, and Galle.
It is also reported that in addition to the buses operating on fixed schedules, it has been planned to operate 500 additional routes.
