The ongoing adverse weather conditions have severely affected 20 districts across the island, with 80,642 families in 166 Divisional Secretariat Divisions impacted, according to the Disaster Management Center.

A total of 276,550 people have been affected, while 16,553 individuals from 5,305 families have been relocated to safe locations.

The Irrigation Department reports that flood conditions persist in low-lying areas near reservoirs. Irrigation Engineer Mrs. G.W.A. Sakura Dilthara wa s of worsening flood risks, particularly due to rising water levels in the Deduru Oya and the Mahaweli River.
