The implementation of a circular issued by the Provincial Ministry of Education in the Weste Province, which restricted school teachers from conducting private tuition classes, has been temporarily suspended.
The decision to halt the enforcement of the circular was made following instructions from the Gove or of the Weste Province.
The circular, issued last Friday by the Secretary of the Provincial Ministry of Education, prohibited school teachers in the region from conducting paid tuition classes for students attending their schools.
Deputy Minister of Labor Mahinda Jayasinghe announced the suspension, citing objections raised against the regulation as the reason for the temporary pause.
