Fisheries Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekaran has instructed the Director General of Fisheries, Susantha Kahawatte, to appoint a committee to submit recommendations to prevent fishing accidents.

The minister has also mandated the implementation of measures to avert similar incidents in the future.
