The Ministry of Education says that the revised circular for the admission of students to the intermediate grades will be issued next week.

Deputy Minister Dr. Madura Seneviratne stated that the new circular will be issued by overcoming many shortcomings in the existing circular.

Accordingly, he stated that the circular will provide provisions to enable the most suitable children to be admitted to schools.

He further stated that this will put an end to the system of admitting students to schools through illegal and improper methods.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Education Madura Seneviratne stated that the revised circular for the admission of students to the first grade is also scheduled to be issued next week.
