The Cabinet has granted approval for the import of up to 30,000 metric tons of raw non-iodized salt.

The Sri Lanka State Commerce (Miscellaneous) Corporation Limited will oversee the import process, which must be completed by January 31, 2025.

The imported salt will be supplied to the market through local salt manufacturers to meet domestic demand.
