Arrested MP Chamara Sampath Dassanayake has been ordered to be released on bail.

This was done by the Colombo Magistrate's Court.

He was arrested by the Bribery Commission after recording a statement on corruption charges today (27).

He was then produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali and ordered to post a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and two sureties of Rs. 5 million each.

The magistrate ordered that the suspect be banned from traveling abroad and that his passport be surrendered to the court.
