A fatal accident occurred yesterday (06) when a car collided with two women on foot.

It happened on the Embulgama-Panagoda road in the Hanwella police division.

The two women who were injured in the accident died after being admitted to the Nawagamuwa Hospital.

The deceased women are 42 and 44 years old, residents of Ranala and Giradurukotte areas.

Police stated that the suspect driver and the car have been arrested in connection with the accident and that the driver was drunk at the time of the accident.
