The Chairman of the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association, Gemunu Wijeratne, stated that his association has decided to restrict bus operations.
This was while participating in a media conference held in Colombo today (07).
He further stated that this decision was made because approximately 25% of buses have already ceased operations independently, and the request for a revision in bus fares, in light of the increase in fuel prices, has not received a positive response.
Accordingly, bus operations will be restricted starting tomorrow (08), with a reported reduction of 50% in service availability.
