A complaint has been filed with the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption against Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody.

It is reported that this complaint has been filed by Sanka Chandima Abeywardena, representing Sri Lankan green organizations.

The complaint has been filed regarding a number of matters, including the loss to the government from a corrupt tender transaction carried out by the energy minister while he was serving at the Fertilizer Corporation.

Sanka Chandima, who filed the complaint, stated that all the documents of the incident were handed over to the Bribery Commission and that the President should take a decision regarding the Minister, and therefore he should be removed from the ministerial post immediately.
