Sri Lanka National Team Captain Dasun Shanaka has been given permission by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board to play in the Major League 20-20 league tou ament to be held in America this month.

In the player draft held for the tou ament, Dasun Shanaka was signed by the Seattle Orcas team.
 
Apart from Dasun, all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga was also selected for this tou ament.

Based on the decision to allow only two league tou aments per year, Sri Lanka Cricket decided not to allow the two of them to participate in this tou ament.
 
But later that decision was changed and Dasun was allowed to play in the tou ament.
 
Accordingly, Dasun, who played in the World Cup qualifying tou ament, is going to leave for America from Zimbabwe.

Wanindu has retu ed to Sri Lanka and it is said that he will not participate in the tou ament as previously planned.
 
The Major League Cricket tou ament organized by the United States of America for the first time is scheduled to start on July 13.
