The committee appointed to investigate and report on the serious abuse of power by suspended IGP Deshabandhu Tennakoon met for the third time yesterday (28).

That was in Parliament.

The Parliamentary Communications Department stated that the relevant investigation team had been named in accordance with the committee's notification to the Acting IGP to nominate and send a police investigation team to assist the investigation committee.

Accordingly, it has been decided to commence the committee's further investigations with the assistance of the police investigation team.
