A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been proposed between the National University of Singapore, the Republic of Singapore, which is ranked at the top of global university rankings, and the Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Training of Sri Lanka.

This is to establish higher educational collaborations, including providing postgraduate scholarship opportunities for Sri Lankan graduate students.

It is reported that the proposed MoU will enable Sri Lankan students to pursue postgraduate degrees, including doctoral degrees, at the National University of Singapore, participate in capacity development programs, and conduct joint research.

Accordingly, the Cabinet has approved the proposal submitted by the Prime Minister for the signing of the MoU.
