The budget proposal presented by the President to allocate Rs. 10 billion from the 2025 budget to fill 30,000 essential vacancies in the public service has been approved by Parliament.
Accordingly, it is reported that an officer committee headed by the prime minister's secretary has been appointed to review the staffing levels of various institutions in the public service and make recommendations for making essential recruitments.
Based on the recommendations submitted by the committee, the Cabinet has so far approved 18,853 new recruitments in the public service.
It is reported that the Cabinet has decided that the relevant ministries should take immediate steps to recruit 30,000 unemployed graduates and youths into the public service under the '2025 Budget' program by inviting applications in accordance with the prescribed recruitment procedures.
