The Food Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Health says that arsenic levels and heavy metal testing of dried fruit, halibut and fruit stocks imported into Sri Lanka has been made mandatory from today (01).

In a survey conducted by the ministry, it has been revealed that the relevant imported foods contain heavy metals and arsenic.
