The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be occasional rains in Southe , Easte and Uva provinces and in Jaffna, Mullaitivu, Matale and Polonnaruwa districts.

The announcement also states that several rainy seasons will occur in Vavuniya, Kilinochchi, Mannaram and Anuradhapura districts.

In other areas after around 1.00 PM there will be scattered rain or thundershowers.

Some places in Southe , Uva, Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Easte provinces may receive heavy rain of 100 mm.

In some places in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces, foggy conditions may prevail in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
