The Department of Meteorology has issued a statement saying that there will be occasional rains in Easte , Uva and North Central provinces and Nuwara Eliya district.

It also states that there may be several rainy seasons in the Northe Province and Hambantota District.

After 1.00 pm in the rest of the island there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms.

Some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Easte and Weste provinces and Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of more than 75 mm.

In some places in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southe and Uva Provinces, foggy conditions may prevail in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
