Today (09) and tomorrow (10) an increase in rain is expected in the North, East, Uva, Central and South provinces and the sky is expected to remain heavy with clouds in most parts of the island, the Department of Meteorology says in a statement.

It also states that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in North, East, Uva, Central and South provinces and Polonnaruwa district.

Anuradhapura district may also experience several rainy seasons.

After 1.00 pm in the rest of the island there will be scattered showers or thunderstorms.

It may rain in the mo ing in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces.

Heavy rains of more than 100 mm may occur in some places in Easte and Uva provinces and in Hambantota district.
