The Department of Meteorology states that thundershowers are likely to occur in the Northe , North-Central, Easte , and Uva provinces in the evening.

The Department stated that moderately heavy showers exceeding 50 mm are likely to occur in the Weste , Northweste , and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Galle, and Matara districts after 1.00 pm today (19).

The statement also states that showers or thundershowers are likely to occur in several places in the Uva province and the Ampara and Batticaloa districts.

Accordingly, the Department of Meteorology has informed the public to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thundershowers.
