The Supreme Court of India has rejected the appeal to legalize same-sex marriage.
It is reported that a five-member bench has announced this decision today (17).
Chief Justice of India Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud stated that giving a decision for this is outside the jurisdiction.
He also said that the laws related to marriage should be prepared by the country's parliament.
But it is further stated that only same-sex partners are allowed to take care of children.
