A horrific accident occurred today (15) when a school van and a private bus collided head-on.

It happened in the Kalugala area of ​​Katugastota on the Kandy-Jaffna A-9 road.

17 school students and the van driver were injured in the accident and have been hospitalized.

Police stated that the private bus was traveling towards Kandy and the school van was traveling in the opposite direction.

The injured in the accident have been admitted to the Katugastota Regional Hospital and the Kandy National Hospital.
