The Vehicle Importers Association has confirmed that the gove ment has not made any official announcement regarding the import of vehicles.

Prasad Manage, the chairman of the association, stated that the uncertainty surrounding vehicle imports has caused conce among buyers and sellers. 'It has been 4-5 years since vehicles were last imported, and our sector has collapsed. We hope to start importing buses and lorries this year, followed by other vehicles in later phases,' he said.

However, Manage emphasized that there is currently no decision from the gove ment on vehicle imports. 'We urge the gove ment to clarify this matter as people are anxious. Until an official statement is made, vehicle owners should avoid selling their vehicles at reduced prices,' he added.

The association also called on the gove ment to address public conce s by issuing a clear statement on the timeline for resuming vehicle imports.
