At the invitation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today (04) for a three-day state visit.
It is reported that Narendra Modi will be visiting Sri Lanka this time to reaffirm the concept of 'a century-old friendship and a bond for a prosperous future' between Sri Lanka and India.
The Presidential Media Division stated that the Indian Prime Minister will be accompanied by a delegation including Indian Exte al Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on this visit.
The official welcoming ceremony for the Indian Prime Minister is planned to be held tomorrow (05) morning at the Independence Square in Colombo.
The Presidential Media Division further stated that Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat on that day and participate in a meeting between bilateral representatives.
Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in the fields of energy, digitalization, security, and health, and agreements related to debt restructuring with India are scheduled to be exchanged.
The Indian Prime Minister will inaugurate the Sampur Solar Power Plant project, which is being implemented with Indian cooperation, and the Dambulla Agricultural Storage Complex with a capacity of 5,000 metric tons that can control temperature and humidity, and the project to install solar panels on the roofs of 5,000 religious places, which was received as an Indian donation, will be inaugurated online by the Indian Prime Minister.
It is reported that Narendra Modi is scheduled to leave the island on the afte oon of April 6th, officially concluding his visit to Sri Lanka.
