Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya and Sports Minister Sunil Gamage visited Jaffna today (10).

This was to inspect the proposed Jaffna Inte ational Cricket Stadium site.

During the visit, preliminary plans for the development of the facility aimed at boosting cricket in the northe region were discussed.

National team head coach Sanath Jayasuriya also requested the recently visiting Indian prime minister to provide financial assistance for the construction of the stadium.
