The Indian media reports that the latest film 'Jailer' starring Tamil cinema superstar Rajinikanth has become the highest grossing film in Tamil cinema so far.

Accordingly, the reports say that it is the fastest film in the history of Tamil cinema to reach the Rs 150 crore mark and the first Tamil film to cross the Rs 400 crore mark within a week.
 
The Indian media further reported that the film 'Jailer' has surpassed the film 'Ponniyin Selvan-1' by the great director Mani Ratnam, who previously held the same record.
