Janaka Ratnayake, the former chairman of the Public Utilities Commission, says that he will apply for the next presidential election.
The former chairman stated that his removal was a defeat for the public, and that this defeat was not his defeat but a defeat for the entire people.
He also said that he has no problem with this removal and that he will take his desks, chairs etc. from the office premises.
He mentioned this while attending a press conference held yesterday.
The resolution to remove him was passed in Parliament yesterday.
That's by 46 more votes.
Accordingly, 123 MPs voted against it and 77 voted against it.
