It has been decided to install descent calculation machines for 200 traffic lights installed in cities.

The Department of Motor Transport stated that the Vehicle Emissions Trust Fund will provide funds for this.

The fund is to provide Rs. 56 million for the first phase, of which Rs. 33 million has been recently provided to the Urban Development Authority, it is reported.

Since the time when these traffic lights are on is clearly visible to drivers, it is possible to keep the vehicle engine off until the appropriate time.
