A special gazette notification has been issued to regulate a maximum retail price mechanism for medicines.

It is reported that the relevant gazette has been issued by the Minister of Health, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The Drug Regulatory Authority is authorized to make such maximum price revisions twice a year.

It is reported that they also have the legal power to change these maximum prices at any time for the public good if the value of the dollar fluctuates.
