The Sri Lankan Election Commission has announced the final results for the Kurunegala District in the 2024 General Election. The National People’s Power (NPP) emerged as the leading party, capturing over 69% of the total votes in the district.

The NPP received 651,476 votes, securing the district win, while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second with 189,394 votes (20.22%).

Based on these results, the NPP has obtained 12 seats in Kurunegala District, with the SJB winning 3 seats.

• National People’s Power (NPP): 651,476 votes – 12 seats
• Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB): 189,394 votes – 3 seat
• Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP): 35,236 votes
• New Democratic Front (NDF): 30,073 votes 
• Sarvajana Balaya: 9,999 votes
