The Sri Lankan Election Commission has announced the final results for the Rathnapura District in the 2024 General Election. The National People’s Power (NPP) emerged as the leading party, capturing over 61% of the total votes in the district.

The NPP received 368,229 votes, securing the district win, while the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second with 133,041 votes (22.31%).

Based on these results, the NPP has obtained 8 seats in Rathnapura District, with the SJB winning 3 seats.

• Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB): 133,041 votes – 3 seat
• Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP): 29,316 votes
• New Democratic Front (NDF): 26,171 votes 
• Sarvajana Balaya: 10,485 votes
