The Supreme Court resumed the hearing of four Fundamental Rights Petitions today (17) filed by students and their parents, who are seeking a re-examination of the first paper of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination.
The petitioners claim that three questions were allegedly left out during the exam, which concluded yesterday.
The petitions were heard before a three-judge bench consisting of Justices Yasantha Kodagoda, Kumuduni Wickramasinghe, and Arjuna Obeysekara. The lawyers representing the petitioners concluded their submissions today, and the lawyers for the respondents are scheduled to present their arguments tomorrow (18).
The bench also instructed both parties to inform the court tomorrow if a settlement has been reached.
