Responses from tech giants to Sri Lanka's Online Security Act

The Asian Inte et Alliance says that the statement made by the Minister of Public Security Mr. Tiran Alas in the Parliament regarding the road safety bill does not accurately reflect their contribution to this bill.

They point out in a statement that although they are ready to work forward with cooperation, the Asian Inte et Alliance has not yet been informed about the amendments to the road safety bill.

The statement issued by them states that this bill cannot be implemented in its current form and direct investments flowing into Sri Lanka's e-economy will also be affected.

Major companies like Google, Apple, Meta, X (Twitter), Amazon, Yahoo, Booking.com, FedEx, Pinterest are members of the Asian Inte et Alliance.
