An order has been issued to the Criminal Investigation Department to arrest 06 suspects, including former IGP Deshabandhu Tennakoon, and produce them in court.

It is reported that this order has been issued in connection with the shooting incident that took place in front of the W 15 Hotel in the Pelena area of ​​Weligama, Matara, on December 31, 2023.

In connection with the legal proceedings being conducted in this regard, 06 suspects, including Deshabandhu Tennakoon and the OIC of the Colombo Crimes Division, have been ordered to be arrested and produced in court on charges of conspiracy to commit murder.
