The Catholic Bishops Conference in Sri Lanka has clarified that Pastor Jerome Fe ando is not a Bishop of the Catholic Church and urged its members not to be misled.
In a statement issued today, Rev. J. D. Anthony Jayakody, Secretary General of the Bishops Conference, emphasized that Jerome Fe ando has no official apostolic succession within the Catholic Church.
“A Catholic Bishop is a continuation of the successors of Jesus’s apostles. Every Catholic Bishop is a direct successor of the apostles, except for Apostle Peter, whose direct successor is the Pope,” the statement explained.
The Church urged its faithful to disregard any claims suggesting otherwise and to remain cautious about misleading information.
