The fundamental rights petitions filed by the Supreme Court today (18) seeking to nullify the decision made by India's Adani Company to construct a wind power plant in the Wedithalathivu area of Mannar were withdrawn.
It is reported that this petition was filed by 5 parties, including the Environmental Justice Center.
The Attorney General filed a motion in court informing the Chairman of the Board of Investment that India's Adani Company had informed the Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka in writing that it would withdraw the relevant project.
Following that notification, the petitioners have withdrawn the relevant fundamental rights petitions.
