President Anura Kumara Dissanayake stated that steps will be taken to provide the necessary facilities and enact new legislation to eliminate organized criminal activities and the drug menace.

This was while participating in a discussion held among the Weste Provincial Police Chiefs at the Presidential Secretariat today (18).

At the meeting, the president stated that it is the responsibility of the police department to protect the rule of law.

The president further stated that a good society cannot be created in Sri Lanka without ensuring the rule of law.
