The continuous strike initiated by the Postal and Telecommunications Officers' Association and the Joint Postal Trade Union Front continues.
It is reported that this strike began yesterday (17) at 4.00 pm based on 19 demands.
The Postal Trade Union Front stated that this strike, which began at the Central Postal Exchange, has been in effect islandwide since 12.00 midnight yesterday.
Joint Postal Trade Union Front co-convener Chinthaka Bandara stated that due to this, all postal operations will be disrupted today.
Postmaster General Ruwan Sathkumara stated at a media briefing held in Colombo regarding the relevant strike that it is unfair to engage in such a strike when many demands of postal workers have been granted.
