The Joint Postal Trade Union Front says that the island-wide strike initiated by postal workers will continue today (19).
Co-convener of the front, Chinthaka Bandara, stated that the strike, which began the day before yesterday evening (17) based on 19 demands, is going very successfully.
Chinthaka Bandara stated that steps will not be taken to suspend the strike until proper solutions are provided to their demands and that they will hand over a memorandum to the President regarding their problems today.
This strike has caused nearly 1.5 million letters and parcels to become stuck at the Central Postal Exchange.
