Purchase of wet paddy has been suspended.

The Paddy Marketing Board stated that more than 20,000 metric tons of paddy have been procured so far this year's Yala season.

Meanwhile, paddy harvesting has already commenced in the Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura areas.

The Chairman further stated that all warehouses that can be opened will be opened and paddy will be purchased.
