The national population and housing census is currently underway across Sri Lanka, and Colombo District Secretary Prasanna Ginige has called on residents to cooperate with officials conducting the survey.

He urged households to provide the necessary information to the visiting officers, who will carry the signature of the Divisional Secretary and an official identity card for verification.

“If you are not at home, please provide a contact number and inform the officials of a convenient time to visit,” Secretary Ginige advised. He also assured the public that the personal information collected during the census would remain confidential and would not be shared with any exte al parties.

The census aims to gather comprehensive data on population and housing, and public support is critical to its success.
