Rafael Nadal has been named in the US Open entry list via a protected ranking, sparking hopes of his retu to Grand Slam tennis.

Despite recent injuries, Nadal recently played in Bastad, Sweden, winning a doubles match with Casper Ruud and defeating Leo Borg in singles.

Though Nadal showed some rust, his resilience was evident in a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Borg.

Nadal, 38, has won the US Open four times but has missed the event in three of the last four years. His inclusion raises anticipation for the tou ament, with the draw set for August 22.
