The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.

Some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts may experience heavy rains of more than 75mm.
 
There are several rainy seasons in the North-West Province and Jaffna District.

Uva and Central Provinces and Ampara and Batticaloa districts will experience rain or thundershowers at a few places in the evening or at night.
 
In North and North-Central Provinces and in Hambantota, Puttalam and Trincomalee Districts, strong winds of around 40-45kmh are possible.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
