The Department of Meteorology says that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.

Some places in Sabaragamuwa province, Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts also received heavy rains of around 75 mm.

The announcement states that there will be several rainy seasons in the North-West Province as well.

A few places in Uva and Central Provinces and Ampara and Batticaloa districts may experience rain or thundershowers in the evening or at night.

Also in the northe and north-central provinces and Hambantota district received strong winds of 40-45kmh from time to time.

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
